This nestling magpie is very confident. The bird is known for collecting shiny and bright objects, and especially in Asia, people associate it with happiness and prosperity, which is underlined by the royal blue and emerald colors symbolizing richness, elegance, and sophistication. For this painting I used a large Chinese calligraphy brush what allows a very free and energetic creation.
